“What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? – it’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”

Jack Kerouac >> On the Road
After those goodbyes… 2,602 miles, three plane rides, a sunrise from 20,00 feet and a sunset from a little regional jet, an airport Starbucks (of course), a smile covering my introverted, observant self to a thousand strangers, the twinkle of an airport night, and the final thud of solid, warm, humid ground… hello, Florida.
It’s been a week. And it’s going to be another “crazy venture” of a semester.

AH! Now I must go find a plane. hah. These are so good! I really love the first few with all that flare. gorgeous.
Blessings on your next semester!
Beautiful. Just beautiful! Any airplane picture secrets you wanna share? I'm leaving early Monday morning (2:30am) to go visit my grandparents in El Salvador for a month. It's not my first solo flight, but it'll be my first solo international flight. So so excited! This post just made me like 10x more excited!! xx
Oh YAY! Girl, that's so exciting. 😀
Yes, definitely!!
1 – wide angle – if you wanna get that "window shot" you will neeeed a wide angle lens with you. I think my window shot was taken at around 25mm with a 18-55 lens.
2 – for wing shots (typical!) don't center it with the horizon. Alsoooo… if the clouds aren't interesting? Hang on. Five miles and you'll have a new view.
3 – don't be afraid to pull out your camera… yes you may endure questions and weird looks from seat mates.
4 – shoot from the ground, too. Taxiing, sitting at the gate, whatever.
5 – widow seats aren't everything. The first three shots in this post are from a crammed middle seat. Just ask permission if you're gonna shoot "over" someone.
6 – be selective. Don't take too many sky/wing/clouds shots. You don't need a million
7 – HAVE FUN. you're on an adventure!!! Let your photos reflect it.
Lovely in every way!
