Born to Be Wild – Steppenwolf
It was a Saturday morning. We’d tried to spend a girl’s weekend over in Seattle sometime during Ro and my breaks, but it hadn’t worked out. The girls had gone without me last December, but they decided I was just tooooo much fun (ha!) and they simply couldn’t do it without me this year. Plus, Ro wasn’t coming home until later anyway.
So we tried to squeeze it in before Christmas… nu-huh. And then after Christmas was getting busy again. Ro was scheduled to leave the first week of January.
But we decided to wing it… so we went to bed on Saturday, totally unprepared for the road trip that we decided should begin the next morning. And we somehow pulled it off. BOOYAH for spontaneity!
It looooooked close enough.
But not today!
Also – I must put in an advertisement here… if you haven’t seen Downton Abbey, you mustmustmust. We don’t have tv at home, but of course if the hotel room has one… and Downton Abbey shows on Sunday nights… whatcha gonna do? Ro and I had seen the first two episodes or so, so naturally watching the last show in Season 2 gave some things away. But now we’ve got to go back and watch them all.
But the next morning, after sleep and COFFEE (Seattle is literally the best place to get coffee) – we were more ready to hit up the shopping. Including the American Girl Place (what can we say, we’re all kids at heart!) andddd…
Me and my mannequin buddy at LOFT.
I HOPE they didn’t care…
And with the pink clouds.
Bonding time, you know.
– a new Drew Barrymore movie on tv
– sparkling cider
– those sparkly crackers and streamers and silly string
– and trying not to make TOO much noise and wake up the neighbors
happy New Year, y’all…
and come back for more. 🙂
