It’s one of those grown-up-together-and-now-they’re-finally-together love stories. It’s four years of college and two years of grad school apart but finally… they’re getting married this summer. It’s long-distance and letter-writing and so many text messages, they probably kept AT&T in business all by themselves.
I met Alondra sometime during my Freshman year, when she was a recitaling Senior music major, and I was just a baby freshman, playing Mozart and wishing I could play Liszt. She was always super sweet. Always super friendly, with a huge smile on her face.
I didn’t get to know her veryvery well – we just had that camaraderie that all music majors have… because, regardless of classification, we’re all in this together. Plus… sometimes a baby Freshman just needs a Senior to tell you that it’s alllll gonna be okay.
And Alondra was always ready to encourage… I don’t think she ever had a bad day.
So when I saw on Facebook that she’d gotten engaged… my heart skipped a beat. Awwww… they’re PRECIOUS!!
And aren’t they ever?
This, dear me, is Alondra and Stephen.
And they’re getting marrrrrried. Soon. Like… you can count the weeks. The days. If you’re Stephen, probably the hours.
They’re both from Florida, the same church, I think. When they were dating, they occasionally used to meet up halfway in Tallahassee – between school and their hometown.
And one day, Stephen had a ring. And a question. Duh.
And she said yes. Duh.
So last semester, Alondra asked me about doing engagement pictures for them. It was a crazy busy semester, and it was almost time for Christmas break before we realized… yup. It wasn’t going to work this year.
When we came back for the spring, there was ONE weekend that it would work out for all three of us to head to Tallahassee and shoot engagement pictures in the VERY SPOT they were engaged.
That was it. It had to work out.
And it did.
(statement of the obvious)
So we started our session in some beautiful gardens – right where he’d gotten down on one knee and they’d promised something about forever. These two are so in love and… well, I just had one huge blast shooting their pictures.
It was almost a three-hour drive, I think… from school to Tallahassee. I brought homework and curled up in the back seat of the little car. Never a minute wasted when you’re a busy Junior!
But alllll the way back – after my first Cracker Barrel dinner (!!) and under a huge, starry Florida sky, I couldn’t help editing pictures instead of finishing up that homework.
Can you blame me?
Because these. are. tooooo. cute.
<3
I don’t have many *favorite* pictures I’ve ever taken, but sheesh… this one comes close.
*insert little starry eyes emoticon here*
Okay okay okay…
this one also comes close. How much more cute can you handle?
More? Good. There’s more.
More? Good. There’s more.
They had this thing. Whenever they were talking on the phone… or texting… they argued about who loved each other more. When Alondra was getting ready for the shoot, she texted me all excited: “I found the perfect ‘love you more’ sign! We havvvve to use it.” Basically, yeah.
“I love you more.”
“No, you don’t.”
“Yes, I do.”
“No, you don’t.”
“Yes, I do.”
“No, you can’t.”
*kiss*
The end.
*kiss*
The end.
They make each other laughhhh. A lot. And it’s precious.
They couldn’t stop laughing at my raptures over this golden light – the last location we shot and the timing was ohhhhhhsoperfect. Gahhhh.
Guys, guys. *le sigh*
SO. MUCH. PRECIOUS.
Alondra and Stephen – thank you everysomuch for being in love. Because it’s awesome. I can see God in so many big ways in your love story. And just looking at you two makes me *know* why I love my job. I wish I could be there to see the Mr. and Mrs. – and girl, I’ll miss you at school!! Congratulations from the bottom of my heart. Thanks for being your amazing selves!
