why not take all of me? can’t you see,
I’m no good without you…
— THE ONE AND ONLY FRANK SINATRA
Purple (I mean: LILACS).
A Southern California breeze.
Drop-dead gorgeous rings.
A simple church wedding.
Two adorable people in love.
If you like ANY of the aforementioned things, you’re going to love these photos from Jessica and Branden’s March wedding in Lancaster, California. I shot this wedding with a friend, Aura (who’s recently re-branded her growing photography business, and if you’re in the LA area, CHECK HER STUFF OUT), and we couldn’t have had more fun.
Jessica and Branden were the most sweet, gracious couple in the world. And I’ve never met a more relaxed bride in my entire life.
Their wedding was so classy – a simple Saturday morning ceremony on a bright California day. Family and friends. Beautiful worship. Chocolate cake. You could feel their love for Jesus and for each other through the whole thing.
I know it’s almost your first anniversary, you two – but congratulations! Marriage looks SO good on you.
EVERY successful wedding day has to start with caffeine fuel, amiright?
Jessica and her sister had us in stitches the WHOLE TIME – trying to get those fake eyelashes on was only the beginning!
Can we take a second to talk about these glitzy shoes, please?! My oh my.
Her dress was SO classy. The perfect amount of everything.
I absolutely LOVE it when couples get their friends and family so involved in the process. It brings a whole extra-special something to the atmosphere of the entire day. And this couple sure had some talented friends.
Take a look at that lacy back, will you?! *swoon*
Her nieces were another highlight of the entire day – I swear they thought she’d turned into a princess overnight (and she DID, guys. She did.).
Jessica got ready in Branden’s parent’s home – and so their first look was in his backyard. That was part of what inspired MY first look (in my husband’s parent’s backyard!) — because it was so intimate, so sweet, and so perfect.
Also – first looks. He was speechless when he saw her.
The California light was so. stunning.
They couldn’t have possibly picked a better day.
The ceremony was held in a small chapel at their alma mater (where they met!!). There was the cutest little courtyard tucked away between some buildings – I mean, check out that tiny little fountain.
If any couple has EVER been excited about “finally” getting married, it was these two.
Oh, and also those deep purple dresses. Let’s just talk for a minute about how perfect they are, k? K.
Ceremony time!! It was filled with beautiful music — live worship, heartfelt praise, and a crowd that loved and supported Jessica and Branden with the biggest smiles you’ll ever want to see.
AND, plus, there were handmade decorations.
Mr. and Mrs. – best words in the WORLD!!
It was so cute – after the ceremony, they both couldn’t stop looking at (or touching!) their wedding rings.
MMMM. Can it be spring again yet?!
THIS is the reaction I got after I told them to:
“ACTUALLY kiss. You’re married, so you can do whatever you want now!”
Which I quickly followed up with: “Well not ‘WHATEVER’ yet…”
Whatever it takes to get the shot, right?
Isn’t her bouquet so quintessentially WEDDING? It was also so her – elegant, classy, and simple.
And I told you the rings were out of this world.
Okay, I promise I’ll stop posting ring shots now.
But it’s hard.
They took a small room behind the chapel (a choir practice room, if I remember correctly), and turned it into a cozy, sparkly reception area. Sweet, right?
“Be nice!” she told him…
And he was.
Such a gentleman.
