For those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are,
and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool
give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year.
You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past.
Summer just opens the door and lets you out.”
Sunday afternoon found us piled into Daddy’s pickup and headed to the lake for a few wonderful hours.
We threw a few sandwiches in the cooler, took a quick spin over the mountains, and there we were… slathered with sunscreen and ready to relax.
And yes, our summer has been filled with other fun things…
like ice cream cones that match Sarah’s tank top
and laying in the sun on my day off….
driving through this beautiful countryside…
this year it was a little rainy-windy, but still fun.
I can’t believe this dork convinced me to go on that one ride… I was so dizzy and screaming so loudly I could hardly think. correction… I COULDN’T think. Spinning like a top twenty feet above the ground then swooping down and nearly… dying.
and finishing the night with the Kelly Hughes Band.
Mom and Dad’s anniversary dinner last night – I looooove these people!!
So if I ever get bored with long and brunette, what about short and blonde?
Just keeeeding. that’s 100% natural… from sun and chlorine… just so you know.
