I’d been to Seattle before. If you live in Washington, it’s a rite of passage. You HAVE to do the Seattle thing. I’d only ever been in January; granted, it was as gorgeous and sunny as I could’ve ever wanted for a Seattle adventure. But never in the summer. So when my hubs had a few days of work over there at the end of last summer, I tagged along.
Basically, I did nothing except drive and walk and drink coffee and take a million pictures. It was literally one of the dreamiest weekends EVER… except that my man was working so I had to do it alone. *sad panda*
There are WAY too many pictures to go along and caption each one, but it basically comes down to this:
1) Pike’s Place at sunrise (yes sunrise, aka like 5:00AM; HIGHLY recommended – there’s zero people except the coffee people and flower ladies. I actually parked in a “no parking” spot for like two hours… I even waved to the bicycle cops and they did nothing. I didn’t even notice until I got back to my car. Beginner’s luck, that’s all I can say.)
2) Bainbridge Island (and accompanying ferries)
3) Alki Beach at sunset (with my old college roomie who happens to live in Seattle, Christina!)
There are a couple other random stops in there, but to be honest I don’t recall precisely where they were… somewhere along Puget Sound.
Happy Sunday evening, everyone… and happy Washington-dreaming (have I convinced anyone to move to the PNW yet, because I’m trying).
