Natalie + Joe | Intimate Sandpoint Idaho Lakeside Elopement

Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho, is one of my favorite places on the planet. Deep, sparkling water surrounded by gentle blue slopes of the three mountain ranges, the scent of dry ponderosa pine forests, summer sunshine until 10PM… it really doesn’t get much better!!
So when Natalie + Joe inquired about their intimate elopement on the shores of the lake in Hope, ID (just outside of Sandpoint), it was an immediate “YES YES!!” from me.

Natalie + Joe are from the midwest, but honestly, who wouldn’t want to travel to Idaho to get married with only their closest family and the mountains to witness?

And this couple brought all the glamor. Natalie’s heirloom details were perfectly chosen to compliment the modern + glitzy touches, totally elevating an “Idaho elopement” to the next level.

Oh, and did I mention… they got married in a CASTLE. Check out that spiral staircase!

Natalie + Joe chose to do a “unity ceremony” by breaking a bowl to later be mended by kintsugi.
from the interwebs: “Kintsugi (金継ぎ, “golden joinery”), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer mixed with powdered gold.”
While they were performing that unity ceremony, the family present all passed the rings around the circle they were seated in; so that everyone present could be a part of the celebration as they entered into a lifelong commitment.
